For the fifth year, Reef Co-Founder Fernando Aguerre hosted Liquid Nation Ball at his ocean-front home in La Jolla, California to raise money for SIMA's Humanitarian Fund. The fund is used to help support fourteen charity organizations around the world. In addition to the annual auction—where Aguerre has made it a tradition to auction off his own pants as a grand finalé—Dr. Dave Jenkins, founder of Surf Aid International, was recognized as the first ever Humanitarian Of The Year for his efforts to help battle Malaria in Indonesia.
