This Saturday, as rain streamed down along Colorado’s front range, reports of as much as a foot of snow in the high country (over 11,000 feet) caused road crews to shut down Loveland Pass. The heavy snows that blanketed the central mountains are melting as I write this, but the snowy peaks are a sign that winter will be here before we know it. Several snowboarders were even featured on the news getting ready to hit up Loveland Pass after it re-opened!

Elliot Strikland enjoys phenomenal powder conditions this afternoon at Mt Hutt

Methven, New Zealand - A further 14 centimetres (5.5 inches) of new snow at Mt Hutt on top of an already outstanding base had skiers and riders eating powder as they enjoyed ungroomed, untracked ski territory at the high country ski area.
Assistant ski area manager James McKenzie says those guests who waited for the road to open were treated to world class powder conditions.
“”Our ski patrol and road crew have worked through the night and all morning to ensure guests had a chance to sample the latest offering from the snow gods”
“Locals are saying our 257cm (8.4 feet) base is the best they can remember in over two decades and the regular top-ups we seem to be getting each week are keeping the mountain in pristine condition”

Manufacturers selling product direct online to consumers is a touchy subject. If you don’t agree, check out the 40-something comments that were posted in regards to the article I did on Quiksilver launching its E-Commerce site in just over a week. The comments—for the most part—are not simply short-sighted shit talking. There are valid arguments both for and against manufacturers (in this case Quiksilver) selling products direct to their customer. In fact, the feedback led me to post a list—and by no means do I believe it to be complete—of actionsports companies selling direct online. So here it is. As always, feedback is welcome.
