Ski Utah Accepts Submissions For Fifth Annual Photo Contest

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE - SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH- Words cannot describe the incredible feeling of effortlessly flying through The Greatest Snow on Earth at a Utah resort. A photo, however, can illustrate all the triumph and joy that moment can bring. Every year, millions of skiers flock to Utah’s Wasatch Mountains and bring their cameras with them hoping to capture the perfect ski or snowboard shot. Once again, Ski Utah is calling out to shutterbugs everywhere to submit their best Utah ski or snowboard photography for the 2008-09 Photo Contest powered by Canon and Pictureline.

“Utah may be one of the most photographed states in the country,” said Jens Neilsen owner of Pictureline camera store. “Its natural beauty attracts photographers from all over resulting in a surplus of talented local and visiting photographers. Each year Ski Utah enjoys the collection of photo submissions representing the best in both scenic beauty and artistic talent.”

Over 1,000 images were submitted to last year’s contest. Submissions may be entered in an amateur or professional category. All submissions must have been taken in Utah during the 2008-09 winter season and need to be received by April 30, 2009. Winners will be awarded with the following prizes:

First Place - Amateur
Five-night Utah winter vacation for two includes:
•    Roundtrip coach air for two to Salt Lake City (domestic only)
•    Five nights lodging for two
•    Four days skiing/snowboarding for two
•    $200 Hertz Voucher
•    $500 gift certificate towards the purchase of a Canon digital SLR camera redeemable at Pictureline or pictureline.com
(Package must be used during the 2009-10 season and requested dates are subject to availability.)

Second Place - Amateur
•    Rossignol skis and bindings or Burton Snowboard and Bindings
•    $100 gift certificate towards the purchase of any Canon product through Pictureline or pictureline.com

Honorable Mentions (4) - Amateur
$50 Pictureline gift certificate.

First Place Ski - Professional
$1,000

First Place Snowboard - Professional
$1,000

First Place Lifestyle - Professional
$500 gift certificate towards the purchase of any Canon product through Pictureline or pictureline.com.

In addition to great prizes, winners of the photo contest will be featured on the pages of Ski Utah’s Winter Vacation Planner.
