COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA – (March 24, 2009) World Industries’ Team Manager, Charlie Thomas, took first place at The Skate Park of Tampa’s Team Manager and Industry V.I.P. contest this past Friday. His signature 1-foot back disaster, 360 flip on the pyramid and a handful of other tricks helped to put him in the lead.

World Industries is one of the most recognized and oldest skate brands in the action sports market. Founded in 1987 by professional skateboarders Steve Rocco and Rodney Mullen, World Industries was the brand that re-defined skateboarding into a street based activity, and this in turn drove skateboarding’s massive growth through the 1990s.
Coming into their sixteenth year, the SPOT is everything a core skate shop should aspire to. Transworld Business had a chance to ask General Manager Ryan Clements a few questions last week when we were in town for the Tampa Am. Here’s what he had to say.
