Access Distribution Acquires Capix, Hires Jody Carlson As Brand Manager
Access distribution is pleased to announce that it has acquired the Capix brand and hired Jody Carlson as Brand Manager for Capix.
Capix was founded by Chet Thomas, Steve Rocco and Dan Opyc in 2000 with one goal to provide the best protection at an affordable price. Today Capix has one of the most influential teams ever assembled and will continue adding to the roster of action sports celebs.
Jody Carlson has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the action sports business and has been in the industry over 12 years . He has worked with some of the premier brands in the business and has strong roots in the snow, skate and surf market segments.
“Having worked with Brandon and Travis while I was a Sales Manager at Arnette, I know that they run a first class operation. I am truly honored to join the Access family and look forward to contributing to the companies growth and success.” said Jody Carlson.
Capix will continue to focus on the core product of helmets but will be introducing several more product categories at SIA 2008 to strengthen the brands position as a leader in the accessories market. Capix will also be launching several all new helmets including new pro models.
“When you combine the solid business infrastructure that Access Distribution has in place with elite team riders and veteran sales representatives it is a recipe for success.” said Jody Carlson. ” We’ve added an extensive accessories program for Skate, Snow and wakeboarding that will debut at SIA” adds Carlson.
Jody joined Access Distribution in December and has been building the Capix rep force in preparation for trade show season.

We brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team” says Travis Wood Vice President/Co Founder of Access. ” Capix is another piece added to Access as part of our overall plan to offer our retailers a wide variety of products from hard good, soft goods and now accessories”. Capix has already locked down a veteran rep force nationwide. On the West Coast Erick Schade will represent Capix in the Northwest, Andrew Baucher and Sierra Sales Group in Northern California and Carter Katz will hold down Southern California. The North East will be covered by Conrad Jordan in the Mid Atlantic territory and Pete Kocher in New England. In the Rocky Mountains Brian Chrinka has joined the team and the Mid West will be handled by Mike Buchmann.
