» Read Full StoryRide Snowboards tapped Bill Markham, formerly Ride’s Rocky Mountain rep, to handle sales in SoCal starting December 17 and Jim Linnberg to canvas the northern reaches of the state.
Markham, based in Oceanside, Calif., has practiced the craft for more than 18 years, most recently as the director of sales for DC Snow. After ten years away from the Ride brand, it’s safe to say both Ride and Markham are stoked to be working together again. “Ride commands respect in the industry,” Markham says. “The brand is renowned for its authenticity, quality and consistent innovation. It’s good to be back with the team.”
Linnberg, out of San Francisco, has been running with Ride for a month already. He has worked in the action sports industry for seven years and currently represents other key action related brands. “Ride has a cult following,” he says. “Their athletes are icons and their technologies like Slimewalls, aluminum bindings, and ContraBand drive the industry.”
U.S. Sales Manager for Ride, Greg Keeling, is more than happy to have Jim and Bill on the team. “Both have the experience and the drive to deliver the world class service that Ride dealers in California have come to expect,” Keeling says. “These guys have high expectations for the Ride brand and I am confident that our retailers will be well served.”
California based dealers looking to stock up on the latest Ride snowboards, boots, bindings and apparel can contact Markham at bill.genome@gmail.com; and may reach Linnberg at jlinnberg@hotmail.com.
OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE - The most sacred holiday of any snowboarder, World Snowboarding Day, is being held on December 21 this year at a location near you.
K2 Snowboarding and Ride Snowboards are seizing this opportunity to invite you for a fun-filled day of snowboarding – because that is precisely what World Snowboarding Day is all about; getting as many people as possible out on their boards and shredding.
And when K2 and Ride talk of an invitation, we’re right there with them! As such, the entire area around the Eckbauerbahn lift in Garmisch-Patenkirchen will be at the disposal of all the world’s snowboarders on Sunday December 21, FREE OF CHARGE.
Naturally, that’s not all: drinks and a barbecue will also be on hand so you can take a breather to recharge your batteries, before heading back to the piste or snow park full of renewed energy.
If Mother Nature smiles on us and sends enough snow, you will also have the chance to take part in a fantastic mini-shred contest - with great goodies from K2 and Ride up for grabs.
Moreover, those still looking for just the right new board for the upcoming season will have an extensive range from K2 and Ride to choose from, which you can also try out to your heart’s content.
So make a date in your diary for Sunday 21 December, dig the board out of hibernation, tune it up and, naturally, don’t forget to tell all your friends. See you on the piste on World Snowboarding Day!
About K2 Snowboarding:
K2 Snowboarding originated in the northwest USA in the shadow of the Cascade Mountains and grew up in the backcountry of Mt. Baker. From the very outset, our goal was to discover concepts and technologies that would advance the art of snowboarding – a story that continues to this day as we further develop the sport through innovations, from the backcountry to the snow parks … and all that lies between. Further information is available at www.K2Snowboarding.com
