First-Ever Califiornia Surf festival Held in Oceanside, CA, Nov. 7-9

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE - Oceanside, CA, October 13, 2008 – The first annual California Surf Festival, an event presented by the California Surf Museum (CSM) and Fuel TV, will be held November 7-9, 2008 in Oceanside, California. The Festival will benefit CSM and showcase surfing culture and history through a variety of special events including surf movie screenings, guest appearances, a VIP reception and a live narration of “The Endless Summer” by legendary surf filmmaker Bruce Brown. Highlighting this inaugural Festival will be a special anniversary celebration of Bruce Brown and his 50 years in filmmaking. Details of the event are as follows:

What:
The first annual California Surf Festival honoring 50 years of filmmaking by legendary surf filmmaker Bruce Brown.
The Festival will offer a unique opportunity for attendees to learn about and experience surf culture and history firsthand with a series of events and special guest appearances from the surf and film industries. The three-day Festival will feature some of the latest surf films and filmmakers, a VIP pre-screening reception as well as many other activities for visitors and locals of all ages to enjoy.

When:
Friday, November 7th; Saturday, November 8th and Sunday, November 9th.
“The Endless Summer” Pre-Screening Reception with Bruce Brown will be held on Saturday, November 8th at 6:30pm.
“The Endless Summer” narrated LIVE by Bruce Brown will be held on Saturday, November 8th at 8pm.

Where:
Crest Theater, 102 N. Freeman Street, Oceanside, CA.
The Pre-Screening Reception with Bruce Brown will be held at TENTEN Oceanside located at 550 Seagaze Drive, Oceanside, CA.

Cost:
Tickets for “The Endless Summer” Pre-Screening Reception with Bruce Brown and following screening of “The Endless Summer” narrated LIVE by Bruce Brown are $150 each and include a VIP pass that provides entry to all Festival movies. General admission to “The Endless Summer” narrated LIVE by Bruce Brown is $35. General admission to all other movies is $10 each. Space is limited. The California Surf Festival is a presentation of the California Surf Museum (CSM) and Fuel TV. The Festival will serve to enlighten locals and visitors about the world of surfing as well as showcase the California Surf Museum’s beautiful downtown Oceanside setting. CSM will also share the progress of its new location at the event. The Festival is a continuing aspect of CSM and its focus on preserving the culture and history of the surfing lifestyle. Funds raised from the Festival will benefit CSM and the upcoming completion of its new facility at 312 Pier View Way, Oceanside, CA.
