Nike 6.0, Hurley, Converse Concept Store Opens in Laguna Beach

The new Nike 6.0, Hurley and Converse concept store at 225 Forest in Laguna Beach had a grand opening party and industry tour last Thursday and Friday, July 2-3, and the Biz Network has all the details.

Agenda’s Aaron Levant was up in Laguna on Thursday for the festivities and came away with some great party photos, including shots of the Nike ID studio on the shop’s second floor allowing people to customize their own T-shirts and boardshorts. He also had a chance to catch up with RVCA’s PM Tenore and Hurley’s Paul Gomez.

TW Business Publisher Rob Campbell was on the scene at 225 Forest on Friday, talking with Hurley President Bob Hurley, CEO Roger Wyett and VP of Branding/Marketing Adrian Nyman. He also got a first hand demonstration of the custom sublimation process from Mike Voeghtlin, the GM of 225 Forest. Take a look:

SHOP NEWS: Laguna Surf & Sport Owner Eric John talks about his 25 years of retailing in Southern California.

On July 21, Volcom announced plans to acquire Laguna Surf & Sport from longtime Owner Eric John. Days later in the company’s Q2 conference call Chairman/CEO Richard Woolcott told investors “The multi branded concept of the LS&S stores is a little different for us, but we believe it helps diversify our retail business by providing us with greater insight about our customers and market trends.” Woolcott also says the stores will keep the same product mix and employees.
