Gretchen Bleiler Renews K2 Contract Through 2012

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON (February 18, 2009) – K2 Snowboarding and Gretchen Bleiler
are proud to announce that they have extended their partnership through 2012. Bleiler, an X
Games champion and Olympic medalist, has been an integral part of the K2 International Pro
Team for more than six years helping to progress women’s snowboarding through not only
her on-snow accomplishments but through her involvement in the K2 Alliance and the
development of products like her new K2 EcoPop snowboard coming out this fall, Affair
boots, and Auto Agogo bindings.
“I’ve been a part of the K2 family since 2003 and can’t wait for the next few years ahead,”
Gretchen said. “K2 does it their own way in everything from the team to the ads and the
product technology. I’m especially excited about K2’s ECO direction and I am really proud to
be getting behind the new EcoPop snowboard. It’s a board that just says no to extra toxins and
materials that are harmful to the environment. Thanks for the love and support throughout my
career, K2, and cheers to many more!”
“It would be impossible for me to list the amount of things that Gretchen brings to the K2
brand,” said Kevin Winkel, K2 International Team Manager. “Her accomplishments since she
has been a part of K2 are a testament to her talent, professionalism and passion for not only
the sport, but the lifestyle that makes snowboarding so great. She has been able to progress
snowboarding not only in the development of K2 products but now also in women’s events,
and fashion. She is truly a pleasure to work with and an inspiration as not only a snowboarder,
but as an individual.”
This season Gretchen is busy preparing for the Olympics in 2010 coming off numerous
podiums in competition, filming for the all women’s video project STANCE, working closely
with K2 engineers on the development of new products for 2009 and beyond, and planning
the 2nd Annual Cover Girl Snow Angels Invitational at Aspen/Snowmass that K2 is proud to
be involved in over the next two years.

K2 Snowboarding, Ride Snowboards Celebrate World Snowboard Day

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE - The most sacred holiday of any snowboarder, World Snowboarding Day, is being held on December 21 this year at a location near you.

K2 Snowboarding and Ride Snowboards are seizing this opportunity to invite you for a fun-filled day of snowboarding – because that is precisely what World Snowboarding Day is all about; getting as many people as possible out on their boards and shredding.

And when K2 and Ride talk of an invitation, we’re right there with them! As such, the entire area around the Eckbauerbahn lift in Garmisch-Patenkirchen will be at the disposal of all the world’s snowboarders on Sunday December 21, FREE OF CHARGE.

Naturally, that’s not all: drinks and a barbecue will also be on hand so you can take a breather to recharge your batteries, before heading back to the piste or snow park full of renewed energy.
If Mother Nature smiles on us and sends enough snow, you will also have the chance to take part in a fantastic mini-shred contest - with great goodies from K2 and Ride up for grabs.

Moreover, those still looking for just the right new board for the upcoming season will have an extensive range from K2 and Ride to choose from, which you can also try out to your heart’s content.

So make a date in your diary for Sunday 21 December, dig the board out of hibernation, tune it up and, naturally, don’t forget to tell all your friends. See you on the piste on World Snowboarding Day!
