WHY: Climate Change effects our environment and our sports!
Let’s face it as snowboarders, skateboarders and surfers we leave a heavy environmental footprint. Snowboarders, from pros to weekend warriors, negatively impact the climate with our gas guzzling SUVs, oil sucking snowmobiles, riding high speed lifts and flying to various resorts and so on. Even surfers are hurting the environment; wetsuits and surfboards aren’t the most eco-friendly items out there and the more you surf the faster you go through them. Unless you live right on the coast you’re likely burning up gas driving to your favorite break or flying to tropical surf spots. Skateboarders’ footprints might be a bit smaller since their skateboards sometimes serve as a source of transportation when going from spot to spot, but what about all of those shoes you’re grinding through or skate park road trips? As pros in these sports our impact is substantially greater. The impact we’re having on our environment seems overwhelming but that’s no reason to turn a blind eye. To help make our carbon footprints smaller we can carpool to the mountain, beach or skate park; we can ride bikes; we can donate old product. We can also donate money to a worthy cause…HELP OUT THE CSAS now by participating in our auction!
Up for Grabs:
JP Walker is one of the top snowboarders of his era, and one of the best ever to strap in, so grab an item from his kit and channel his technical skills. For Infamous’ SOS Charity Auction he has donated his signature Oakley O frame goggles and a pair of his signature 32 Prospect boots which have been autographed by the Don himself.
Seth Huot’s solid MDP video parts and gnarly rail skills have made him one of the best snowboarders out there. Seth put together a sick package for the Charity Auction. In case you haven’t heard Volcom is making snowboards, but they’re not just giving them to anyone, they’re for the Volcom team. But you could have your very own Volcom shred stick courtesy of Seth. Also take a look at the dope Nixon watch, Volcom outerwear and other gear he’s kicked in.
Nomis is Simon spelt backwards so what better way to get your hands on some Nomis gear than from Simon Chamberlain himself? He has hooked up a whole bunch of Nomis hoodies including his signature OG Plaid hoody, and a bunch of outerwear. If that’s not enough for you, fear not, Simon also donated a zillion New Era hats and some tees.
You’ve probably checked out Stevie Bell in Transworld Snowboarding’s September 2008 issue by now, so you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about when I say the Special Blend “Lifty” jacket he’s wearing in his SB ad could be all yours. Bid for it on the eBay site right now!
Spencer O’Brien won her first X Games medal this past winter on a Burton Blender 151. She’s offered up that board for the Charity Auction so you can tap into her good luck. Spencer has also donated 2 B By Burton jackets which she helped design.
Leilani Gryde has had a good showing so far this year in surfing’s World Qualifying Series, currently ranked in the top 20. She has also been busy traveling all over the globe filming for the upcoming Oakley all-girl video. Whenever Leilani has a minute to chill out she likes to slip on some etnies Chula II flip flops. Knowing that not all girls are created equally etnies has hooked up a pair in every size (women’s 6-10).
Stian Solberg thinks Pow Sucks. Ok not exactly, but he’s stoked on the Stepchild Powder Sucks board which is why he has donated it to Infamous’ SOS Charity Auction. Stian also threw in a pair of his favorite Defcon pipe gloves.
Joe Sexton’s pants are way too tight for 32’s Timba boots, but he knows there’s plenty of baggy pant wearing bros that are stoked on them, so he’s hooked up a pair for the Charity Auction. Joe also kicked in a track jacket to complete the look. Check it out on eBay.
Meghann O’Brien worked super hard this past season to put together a segment in Runways’ upcoming flick “See What I See,” full of pillow lines and backcountry action. She’s donated the kit she was rocking while filming this season including a Forum setup (board and bindings), and one of her favorite Foursquare jackets.

British Columbia - Infamous Management is proud to announce the signing of young snowboard phenom, Kyle Mack to a multi-year contract.
Kyle has been a force on the Burton Smalls since his introduction to the team in 2005. As a part of the Smalls crew he has shot, filmed and competed with some of the sports’ most influential riders, photographers and videographers. Recently Kyle was featured in two back to back issues of Snowboarder Magazine, a feat for snowboarders twice his age. With his career on the upswing Kyle’s parents sought honest representation for their son, and found it in Infamous Management.
“I’m looking forward to being part of the Infamous crew! It’s going to be great working with Roberta and getting to meet the other team riders. My sponsors believe that this is a great step in my career, and I just keep thinking that I’m only 11, what is a career? I’m just having a great time shredding. But seriously, I do believe that being part of this crew is going to be an awesome experience all around, both personally and professionally.” -Kyle Mack
At just eleven years old Kyle has begun to make his mark in the snowboard industry because of his raw talent and good style. Infamous has taken note of Kyle’s athletic ability and achievements, and wants to provide him with direction as he makes the first and most vital decisions in his snowboard career. Infamous will ensure that he becomes a well-rounded and highly marketable athlete, and that his snowboarding will continue to stand out among his peers.
“In an era where there are more followers than leaders Kyle stands out, not just with his talent and style, but also with his knowledge and passion for snowboarding. Kyle knows what a real pro snowboarder is and doesn’t let the mainstream market dictate that to him. He respects the riders that are doing real tricks and pushing the sport. In the near future Kyle will be the one setting the standard, I have no doubt about that. He has talent, maturity, and passion, plus the support of a loving family behind him. With the added support of Infamous and our athletes he will succeed.” -Roberta Rodger
Kyle’s ultimate goal is to become one of the best snowboarders in the world, which is why he wants to develop experiences in heli-boarding, the backcountry and at rail events. Not to mention he would like to have continuing success in halfpipe and slopestyle competitions.

Infamous Management is proud to announce the addition of Keala Kennelly to the crew at this, a pivotal point in her career. After years of dominating the WCT and garnering tons of magazine coverage, Keala took a break from surfing to pursue acting in 2007.
This year she returns to pro surfing with the goal to break ground on the women’s side of the sport; she wants to become the first ever successful female pro free surfer.
Keala was born into surfing. Her mom surfed while pregnant with her, and her dad had her surfing on the nose of his board by the time she was 3. Growing up in Kauai under the influence of the Irons brothers Keala learned to rip big waves and push herself early on. She carved out a niche for her rebellious self while on the WCT tour conquering Teahupoo and Pipe.
In addition to her surfing success, Keala is also an accomplished actress. She had a cameo appearance in the big screen movie, Blue Crush, in which she performed surf stunts, and she has also played a recurring role in the HBO television show, John from Cincinnati.
Though she is known for her massive tow-ins at Teahupoo (first in 2005 and again this May), her fearless style and countless accolades, she is more than a surfer that can charge. Keala is an ambassador of women’s surfing and a powerful role model. Not only does she want to change what it means to be a female pro surfer, but she also wants to fight for equality for women in surfing.
“Keala is such a strong icon for women’s surfing, and she has helped the sport grow so much by surfing in bigger waves.” -Infamous surfer, Leilani Gryde
Infamous is confident that with our support Keala can be a successful freesurfer and gain photo and video coverage, the way many guys in the industry have, but no female has yet been able to achieve. She has always had her own approach to surfing, because she knows who she is and what she wants, which is why Infamous believes in her ability to take women’s surfing in a new direction.
“Infamous is established by pro athletes, so they understand athletes. Roberta is a woman who has seen the snowboard world go through some of the changes I would like to be a part of in the surfing world for women. I think her insight is going to be invaluable.” -Keala Kennelly
