Though most skateboarders consider everyday Go Skateboarding Day (GSD), this past Saturday skateboarders across the world united to celebrate the official holiday of their sport and passion.

Presidents have one. Martin Luther King, Jr. has one. Hell, in Australia Guy Fawkes even has one, and all he did was threaten to blow up Parliament. So what good comes out of having a “day,” and why do we need them for surfing and skateboarding? The short-short answer is recognition.

Skaters Guru Khalsa, Torey Pudwill, Keith Hufnagel, Andrew Brophy, Paul Shier, Mark Baines, Kristian Bomholt, Lucien Clarke, and Janne Saario are primed and ready for a day full of demos, a signing, and BBQ.
