Beaches are closed for the next 72 hours from Torrey Pines State Beach north to South Carlsbad, after 66-year-old triathlete Dr. David Martin was attacked by what marine biologists predict was a 12 to 17-foot great white shark while swimming 150 yards off the shore in Solana Beach, Calif.
