Black Box Appoints Frank Messman CEO/Partner

Black Box Distribution announced that Frank Messman is its new CEO and partner. Messman, who’s from Denmark and an IASC board member, began his partnership with Black Box in late 2008 when he teamed up with the company to create Black Box Europe, and is making the move to Black Box’s Carlsbad, California HQ.

Originally from Denmark, Frank has held several roles of increasing responsibility in the skateboard
industry during the 20 years since his days as a professional skateboarder. Based in California from
1994-2003 he was an early partner in, and CEO of, Dwindle Distribution and World Industries, he has
also held European General Management positions at Powell Corp, DC Shoes and Sole Technology.
“It’s great to work with someone with as much insight and experience as Frank, especially in these
times. It’s also exciting to have the opportunity to focus my full attention on the team and creative
aspects of the company while Frank takes the lead with the business and finance portions. It truly feels
like a great partnership”, said Jamie Thomas, founder and president.

everyone at Black Box has done an incredible job getting the company to where it is today and I am very
excited to now join and help shape its future” said Frank Messmann.
