» Read Full StoryDC opened its second concept store in Asia Pacific, located within one mile of Manila’s TriNoma shopping center. The store will feature DC’s apparel and footwear collections, as well as the premium skate and LIFE collections for men’s, women’s and kid’s apparel, footwear and accessories. Here’s some additional information from DC:
“The DC concept store is the first in the Philippines and has been extremely well received since our doors opened a few days ago,” said Paul Sy, DC Philippines Distributor. A one-stop shop for skateboarders, action sports enthusiasts and street culture connoisseurs, we offer the full range of DC shoes, apparel and Special Projects™.”
“Manila is such a fantastic city so we are extremely proud to open our second DC Asia Pacific concept location in a city where our brand has so quickly become popular,” said Jeremy Hale, Sales Director, DC Asia Pacific. Remaining consistent to the design of the United States stores, the DC Manila store embodies DC’s skateboarding and action sports lifestyle and heritage. Displayed throughout the store are a variety of large format images featuring DC’s world-class team of athletes and iconic moments in the brand’s history. The DC Manila store will be the location for special events and athlete appearances throughout the year.
Since the opening of the first flagship store in New York’s popular Soho shopping district in the spring of 2006, DC has opened flagship stores in Park City, UT, Los Angeles, CA, Irvine, CA and most recently Las Vegas, NV, as well as its first concept store in Asia Pacific in Bali, Indonesia.

DC hosted a party Thursday, July 2, at its Melrose Store in L.A. to celebrate the release of DC skate photographer Mke Blabac’s first book, “Blabac Photo: The ARt of Skateboarding Photography.” Danny Way, Rob Dyrdeck, Lance Mountain, Mike O’Mealy, Aaron Meza, Alba Jefferson, and Steve Berra were all in attendance to support the event, which featured a photo gallery with pieces representing 20 years of Blabac’s work. Here’s some additional information provided by DC:
“Available July 1st, BLABAC PHOTO is the first skateboarding book of its kind featuring 224 pages of iconic images in skateboarding in a beautifully designed, cloth-bound, large format hardcover book. Published by powerHouse Books, BLABAC PHOTO takes you on a visual journey from Blabac’s humble beginnings as a kid who was intrigued by cameras to shooting some of the most legendary skateboarders of all time. Coinciding with the release of BLABAC PHOTO is the Blabac Azure mid, the first DC signature shoe that has been made for a non-professional team member. This shoe was designed to compliment the book and pay homage to Blabac and his work with DC over the past 10 years.

Next stops on Blabac’s tour are July 9, 2009 in Melbourne, Australia; July 12 in Tokyo, Japan, July 18 in Barcelona, Spain and the final stop will be in London, England on July 22.
