Every time I look at somebody’s (pretty much anybody’s) September 30th quarterly report, I see the beginnings of the recession, and worry about what these things will look like when we see the ones for the December 31st quarter. I know everybody else is worrying about that as well. Worrying doesn’t really help. All you can do is run your business well and that seems to be what Columbia is doing.

Columbia Sportswear Company, a global leader in the active outdoor apparel and footwear industries, today announced the appointment of Patrick Chevallier as the director of sales for Europe. He will report to Christian Finell, general manager, Europe.
Chevallier, 46, is a veteran of the sports business industry with 18 years of experience. He joins Columbia from Amer Sports, where he served as commercial director for Eastern Europe and more than 20 countries of the EMEA region. Prior to that, he was employed for 12 years at Salomon in various international marketing and management positions. Chevallier is a native of France and will be based at Columbia’s European headquarters located in Geneva, Switzerland.

His strategic management skills and extensive knowledge of pan-European sales operations will play an important role in executing our global go-to-market initiatives in the European outdoor market,” said Christian Finell, General Manager Europe.
