Each year, the snowboard season is launched with a myriad of consumer shows around the country that help serve as bell weathers of the coming season’s sales. If the Colorado Expo is indicative of things to come, it should be a good year for softgoods.

According to Colorado Springs’ TV station KOAA:
Colorado Ski and Golf is kicking off a ski and snowboard recycling program. Equipment in good condition will go to charitable programs. Equipment in bad condition will be shredded and reused.
” What we’re going to try and do is some product will be ground up and be able to use and make some decking and other composite materials that may be useful as opposed to filling landfills,” said John Buell, store manager.
To fund the program, the shop is adding a $5 recycling fee to the sale of new equipment.
