Steamboat’s Announces “Bags Fly Free” Program

Steamboat Springs, CO - Take off this winter and take everything you need with you to Ski Town, U.S.A. ® as the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation unveils its new Bags Fly Free* program, in conjunction with the resort’s Early Rewards package. Now, the only thing you need to make room for is carving up Steamboat’s legendary Champagne Powder™ snow, which last winter resulted in a record-breaking snow season.

“Steamboat has always looked at innovative ways to ensure our guests enjoy the best value for their vacation,” said Rob Perlman, vice president of sales & marketing for the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. “Two decades ago, the resort unveiled Kids Ski Free™; then invented Kids Fly Free; and now, to provide additional value to our air traveling guests this winter, Bags Fly Free.”

When guests book an Early Rewards air-inclusive package through Steamboat Central Reservations® between August 15th and November 3rd, the resort will offset the baggage fee from the airlines to the tune of $25* per booked air seat through an American Express pre-paid gift card–savings that can really add up for families. Steamboat’s Early Rewards package offers saving up to 20% on lift tickets and lodging when purchased and paid in full by November 3, 2008.

Steamboat’s winter nonstop flight program will offer all-jet nonstop air service from nine major airports (Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, Houston, Newark, New York-LaGuardia, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Salt Lake City) on five key U.S. carriers – American, Continental, Delta, Northwest and United Airlines, direct into Steamboat/Hayden Airport (HDN) for the 2008/2009 season.

“Steamboat’s guests can count on the resort’s air program and innovative strategies to ensure the best value for their vacation,” continued Perlman. “Despite many changes in air service nationwide, the resort has been able to secure nine key nonstop routes cementing its position as one of the most easily accessed resorts in Colorado.”

New for winter 2008/2009, United Express has upgraded its nonstop Denver service to all jets, including the Canadair regional jet CRJ-700, which has 78% more capacity than the Dash-8. In addition to nonstop air service from nine major airports, Steamboat/HDN has convenient connecting service from more than 200 other domestic and international cities.

Steamboat’s air program is one of the most successful, longest-running programs in the ski industry. The state-of-the-art airport facility, coupled with robust flight options and value programs like Bags Fly Free*, offer complete convenience for guests and a competitive advantage for the entire Steamboat Springs community.

The air-inclusive Early Rewards Package and all other vacation options in Steamboat can be booked through Steamboat Central Reservations®.
