Skate
Out of a field of 31 skaters, Taylor Bray won the skate park competition Saturday at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour’s stop in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Sixteen-year-old Bray from Weatherford, Texas earned the skate park victory at Alliance Skatepark after executing a backflip and a nollie bigspin during the final jam session. Josh Love took second place and Jordan Halley rounded out the top three.
“The contest was sick!” Bray said. “I’m glad I won, but I’m glad it’s over too. It was so hot today.”
“It was a solid event today,” Mark Laue, owner of Alliance Skatepark, said. “We’ve hosted the Gatorade Free Flow Tour two years in a row now, and the crowds and the athletes keep getting bigger. It’s really great to see Gatorade taking an interest in supporting amateur skaters. I look forward to seeing how Taylor does in SLC!”
Bray is a two-time finalist on the Gatorade Free Flow Tour, having won the skate park competition at last year’s Tour event at Alliance Skatepark.
With the win, Bray earns an automatic bid into the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals that will take place at the Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge, September 17-20, 2009.
