RETURNS HOME TO TOP JOB AT IDAHO RESORT
TRUCKEE, Calif. - March 24, 2009 - Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort announced today the resignation of long time General Manager Tim Silva. Silva will be departing the resort at the end of the 08-09 season to become the General Manager of Sun Valley Resort in Idaho. Employed by Northstar Resort for 18 years, Silva has held the General Manager position for the past 15. Prior to joining Northstar® Resort, Silva was the mountain manager for Sun Valley Resort. His new responsibilities will include oversight of the operations and maintenance of all aspects of the Sun Valley Resort. These include hotel, food and beverage and mountain operations, retail, ski school, golf, convention services, security, transportation and all administrative operations. ”It was a very hard decision for my family and me to make this change as we are very involved and committed to Northstar Resort and the Truckee community. I leave Northstar Resort in the very talented and capable hands of the present management team and know that they will continue to achieve great success,” said Silva. ”Tim has made great contributions to the success of Northstar Resort and we wish him continued success in his new endeavors. I cannot think of a finer, more quality person I’ve had the pleasure of working with throughout my career. He will be greatly missed not only by the team at Northstar Resort, but by the entire community,” said Chris Ryman, President and Chief Operating Officer of Booth Creek Resorts, operators of Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort. Under Silva’s stewardship, Northstar Resort has experienced tremendous growth and become one of the finest year-round mountain resorts in North America with a new base area village featuring 35 unique shops and restaurants, a conference center, 9,000 square foot skating rink, on-site lodging, special events and more.
