Today Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) kicked off its signature 5th and 6th Grade Passport programs designed to introduce kids to the sports of skiing and snowboarding at Colorado’s legendary resorts. Now available for the 2009-10 season, the Passports make skiing more accessible for families of 5th and 6th graders by providing three free days of skiing, or four days of skiing for $99 respectively, at each of 21 CSCUSA member resorts.

Widely recognized as the industry’s most influential program, CSCUSA 5th Grade Passport is available to all 5th graders. The 5th Grade Passport provides three days of free skiing at each of 21 CSCUSA member resorts, totaling 63 days of complementary snow sliding adventure.

Teeming with value, the 6th Grade Passport provides four days of skiing at the same 21 CSCUSA resorts for $99, totaling 84 days on snow at less than $1.20 a day.

“Skiing in Colorado is something that everyone should have the opportunity to learn to do,” explains Melanie Mills, president and CEO of Colorado Ski Country USA. “The Passport programs make introducing 5th and 6th graders to skiing and snowboarding easy and accessible for families. The Passport provides the lift ticket, resorts provide inspiring terrain, Mother Nature provides the snow, and kids bring all the fun with them.”

Being the first state to offer such a program, Colorado Ski Country USA has been providing the 5th Grade passport for 13 years and has helped nearly 200,000 families get on the slopes. “We’ve seen the program grow exponentially over the years,” continues Mills. “And are thrilled to see it replicated today in other states around the country.”

Resorts participating in the Passports for 2009-10 include: Arapahoe Basin, Aspen Highlands, Aspen Mountain, Buttermilk, Copper Mountain, Crested Butte, Purgatory (Durango), Echo Mountain, Eldora, Howelsen Hill, Loveland, Monarch, Powderhorn, Ski Cooper, Snowmass, SolVista, Steamboat, Sunlight, Telluride, Winter Park and Wolf Creek.
