Another season of summer music, family activities, gorgeous hikes and sweeping 360 views from the top of Aspen Mountain is in full swing.
Bluegrass Sundays kicks-off on June 21 with Joe Hurley and The Gents. The concerts are from noon to 3 p.m. and continue through September 6. This free series invites guests to experience some of the world’s best bluegrass music in a breathtaking setting at the top of Aspen Mountain.

Daily and weekly activities will resume for the summer season on Friday, June 19 with everything from guided nature hikes to a climbing wall. A list of great summer activities is bellow.
Alpine Sightseeing & Hiking: The top of Aspen Mountain is a gateway to some of Colorado’s best alpine hiking and walking trails. Choose from easy self-guided strolls to more ambitious treks. FREE!
ACES Guided Nature Walks: Enjoy a FREE 45-minute walk with a naturalist from the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies. Offered daily on the hour from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Meet at the top of the Silver Queen Gondola. (June 20 – September 7)
Disc Golf: Play the world’s highest official disc golf course - it’s a hike and a game in one fun outing. Offered daily. Golf discs, score cards and course maps are available outside of the patrol headquarters at the top of the mountain. FREE! (June 19 – September 7)
Saturday Classical Music: Take in the beauty as students of the world-renowned Aspen Music Festival perform a repertoire of their own choosing. FREE performances begin at 1 p.m. on Saturdays. (July 4 – August 15)
Yoga Hikes: This popular program combines intermediate backcountry hikes followed by an hour of open-air Hatha yoga at the top of Aspen Mountain. Offered Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays. Meet at the bottom of the gondola at 10 a.m. $54 includes gondola ride. Reservations required – call 970-923-1227. (June 22 – August 28) Private instruction also available.
Climbing Wall: Test your agility on the rock-climbing wall. Open daily, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. $8/one session, $12/two sessions, $75/ten-punch pass – valid for use on climbing wall and Eurobungy trampoline. (June 19 – September 7)
EUROBUNGY TRAMPOLINE: The world of extreme sports introduces this hybrid of the trampoline. 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. $12/one session, $18/two sessions. Open daily. (June 19 – September 7)
Obstacle Course: Check out this course full of natural and manmade obstacles. Open daily. FREE! (June 19 – September 7)
Silver Nugget Dig: Dig in the mining sandbox to uncover nuggets of all shapes and sizes. Open daily. FREE! (June 19- September 7)

Tuesday: The Jammin’ Jim Show with a juggling workshop 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Wednesday: Kite Building/Flying ($10 charge) 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Thursday: The Jammin’ Jim Show with a juggling workshop 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Friday: Storytelling with Spellbinders 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The Sundeck Restaurant, located at the top of Aspen Mountain, offers a full lunch menu with grilled items, fresh sandwiches, vegetarian dishes, homemade pizza, salads, wok selections (on weekends), desserts and beverages. Guests are encouraged to relax outside on the sun-filled deck and enjoy the stunning views. The Sundeck is open daily from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The Silver Queen Gondola will run daily from June 19 – September 7, 2009. The Gondola is currently open on weekends only until that June 19th date. The Gondola operates from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. with the last download at 4:30 p.m.
