Wahoo’s Fish Taco celebrated the grand opening of its original store in Costa Mesa which opened in 1988.  Thousands of people attended to get their hands of free gifts and $0.20 taco’s.
20 years ago Wing Lam, Ed Lee, and Mingo Lee put their heads together and decided to open this little taco stand.  Located in the heart of the Surf, Skate, Snow industry is the original Wahoo’s.  Through those years, Wahoo’s saw so many great companies rise and fall while making great food for us all.  The majority of the worlds skateboards have been manufactured in Costa Mesa.
On February 22nd, it was about celebrating 20 years of Wahoo’s, and the years to come.  Several companies came out to support Wahoo’s including Bear Mountain, Etnies, Signal Snowboards, Red Bull, KROQ, FUEL TV, Beachworks, Jada Toys and more.  The first 200 people to arrive received amazing gift packages.
The mayor of Costa Mesa Allan Mansoor showed up as well.  He helped Wing, Ed, Mingo, and Steve with the official ribbon cutting for the grand re-opening of the original Wahoo’s which has been closed for the past two months getting a remodel. Today there are over 50 Wahoo’s locations.
Congratulations Wahoo’s
