Völkl announced it has struck up a partnership with a company called Net Enforcers, which monitors online sales in an effort to curb gray market activities.
According to the release:
Net Enforcers’ Price Monitoring Solution, aligned with its leading team of experts, is designed to detect in real time if an authorized online retailer offers a price outside of the established pricing policy. Should such a violation occur, Marker and Völkl will receive immediate notification. Marker and Völkl will then request that the price be corrected prior to it affecting the broader market. Unauthorized online sales will also be detected and dealers made aware of their impending Intellectual Property abuse.
“We take the value and integrity of our brands very seriously”, said Greg Grip, EVP at Marker Völkl USA. “Entering into an agreement with Net Enforcers was appealing to us because it’s another way we can support our retail partners and provide them with options to ensure their success and profitability.”
“It is critical now more than ever for companies to take an aggressive role in combating misuse of their proprietary brands, and we are looking forward to delivering this solution to Marker, Völkl, and its resellers,” says Stuart Bennett of Net Enforcers.
Marker Völkl USA is the first company within the ski industry to retain Net Enforcers to police its online sales policies and procedures. As more snow sports suppliers come on board, the broader industry will benefit - there will be virtually no window through which to circumvent the policies of high-value brands.
