Just a little sneak peak from Europe, where legendary pro shredders JP Solberg, DCP, and Romain De Marchi are getting some early-season pow and testing their new boards. They are starting a new board brand that is yet-to-be-named. But, as you can see, the guys are testing new boards with a YES WE CAN base graphic. Stay tuned for more details as they emerge.

Looks like Burton is starting yet another board company. They are trying to hide the fact they are starting a new company by saying they released these three riders. This is kind of what they did when they started Rome. With Rome they said it was designers who left Burton, now it is riders who left Burton

a conspiracy? i doubt it… why would burton drop 3 riders and back a their new board brand? these guys will get sponsored by other outerwear, binding, and clothing sponsors. i heard dcp is with north face already. if burton wanted them they’ed keep them on 100% burton brands i.e analog gravis

JP has signed on Helly Hansen outerwear.
Jan Petter Solberg is a friend of mine, and I can tell you that both Romain and JP hated to be on Burton, at so many times.
Sean is mistaking totally.
Why is Gigi Rüf to be a Volcom Snowboards team rider, if there’s a conspiracy?

It’s hilarious that people are still perpetuating the myth that Burton has anything to do with Rome. Just because Rome’s two founders used to work for Burton doesn’t mean Burton has any involvement with the company.

Another “core” board company - wow - never seen that before?
Good luck - they’re gonna need it.

Let me see, team has-been was let go from a large snowboard company and are now scrambling to create their new “Kore” brand that will completely revolutionize the industry.
How original.
Good luck guys. The market is ready for a new alternative small brand.

Way to slander two guys just trying to feed their families. You’re all so smart.
If I were Romain I would just give up. I’d drop my baby off on a door step, prostitute my wife and use the procedes to speed ball myself into a comma. The only saturating I would be doing is in my shorts, while telling a mail box about how awesome a skiborder I used to be.
I guess saying ‘good luck’ is no loger fashionable.

I think launching another board brand in this economic climate would be an irresponsible venture…If I was them I would keep the bills under the bed for a couple more years. All I am sayin’ Wait till this econmy cleans house of all the other small brands and then move in a take the market share. The best thing these guys have going for them is there reps. If I was them I would sit down with Todd Richards and see how he is making a go of things.

That must mean Eesa is owned by Burton too with that philosophy.

Kids are going to buy these boards regardless of the economy and people in the industry are going to love it because its not burton… but it wont sell as well as burton cause anyone not in love with snowboarding only knows the name burton when it comes to boards.
mervin makes better ones, stepchild makes tougher ones, o-matic makes boards that are more fun, capita makes better looking ones, but all of this means basically fuck all because there is no brand recognition

Rome part of Burton?
I want some of whatever your smoking…
Every person I’ve ever spoken with that works at Rome has always been very Anti-Burton to the point that they will not even say the name. They usually refer to it as “That Other Company From Vermont”
