Six men, all from the West Coast, were cited for misdemeanor trespassing on railroad property when police found them shooting a snowboard video in the middle of a neighborhood in St. Paul, according to the Twin Cities Pioneer Press. The men, one of which was identified as Burton team rider Keegan Valaika, claimed they worked for Burton and were shooting a video for their blog, according to the story:
“A blog on the Burton Web site includes an entry from Monday called “Midwest Check In.” The post does not mention their being in St. Paul or a run-in with police.”
In a follow-up story, Twin Cities quoted Burton’s film director saying “We’re not a bunch of punks.”
“‘Were they trespassing? Yes,’ he said of his co-workers. ‘Did they know? No. I think they probably should have just got a warning, but I’m not upset at the police.’”
In January, the crew got into a similar situation with Minneapolis police. Watch the video from Burton’s blog:
