OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE - Irvine, CA (December 10, 2008) – In a time where good news is hard to come by, Rusty North America announces that its Spring 2009 Pre-Book Order File is 40 percent ahead of same time last year sales and 104 percent to their end of season plan.

The Rusty Sales Team hit the road in September with a fresh new look and the positive reaction from retailers turned into better than expected pre-book orders for the brand.

The success of Spring 2009 line is lead in part by the Global Cooling Boardshorts Series and the new “Ecostretch” fabric developed exclusively by Rusty. The Ecostretch fabric is a four-way stretch, quick drying, super light boardshort material that is made from recycled polyester material. Rusty is supporting the Global Cooling Boardshorts Series with an extensive marketing campaign that will be supported through advertising, online, in-store and fixtures programs.

Tom Brown owner of the 17th Street Stores in Virginia Beach, Virginia said, “Rusty’s Global Cooling Boardshort series makes them an important part of our 2009 swim classification. Rusty’s innovation and designs address both our ‘Going Green’ statement without sacrificing the need for performance boardshorts.”

Spring 2009 isn’t the only season that is looking up for Rusty, Summer is also forecasting to exceed expectations as well. “The Rusty Design and Sales team has done an amazing job of bringing innovative, trend right, and environmentally conscious product to the market and Spring 2009 is just the beginning of what is to come from the brand,” said Charlie Setzler, President of Rusty North America. “Our team has laid a solid foundation in the market for spring and we are looking forward to taking our brand to the next level by continuing to develop and provide innovative products for our core retailers.”
