Quiksilver Presents Eddie Window Award to Bibao, Spain’s Styling

Quiksilver have announced Styling from Bilbao, Spain as the winner of the Eddie window and product promotion campaign for Europe.

During the Eddie Aikau waiting period from December 2008 to February 2009, 40 of Europe’s surf retailers who are part of a Quiksilver back to roots program called Quiksilver Union were promoting the exclusive and limited edition Eddie Aikau merchandise.

Part of the promotion was to build the best window display that showcases the world’s most prestigious big-wave surfing event and the only big-wave surf contest sanctioned by the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP).

Two lucky staff from Styling will be flying to this year Official Opening Ceremony at the hallowed grounds of Waimea Bay, on the North Shore with one week accommodation including all the VIP treatment required to have a great time managed by surf legend Jeff Hakman and co-founder of Quiksilver.

Lets hope in early December we get to see the Eddie minimum reached of 20-foot surf (Hawaiian scale) for our friends at Styling.

Jeff Hakman co-founder of Quiksilver and big wave surfer said, “the effort put into these windows is a amazing, our Quiksilver Union partners really were creative and insightful to the window designs. This shows a shared passion towards surf and a real commitment from our loyal Union partners especially being the middle of winter. From all accounts the sell through of the product has been really successful due to its limited nature and the association with this prestigious event.

Other highly commended retailers across Europe were; Ponant Surf Shop France, Rainbow Anglet France, Mission Villagareia Spain, Northshore Newquay, United Kingdom and Hart Beach Scheveningen, Holland.
