Queens, New York is stepping up its game of skate with a new park and clinic program that teaches kids ages 8-13 the fundamentals for free. The program has had a great response and is already boasting a month long wait for a spot in the classes.

According to a story on NY 1:

“We just try and help them out and they usually respond pretty well because this is what they want to do,” said skateboarding clinic coach Michael Stewart.

“It’s really exciting watching them go through the same thing I went through when I started skateboarding,” said Nickolai Del Grosso, another skateboarding clinic coach. “And just like seeing them smile when they finally land something they have been trying all day.”

The park itself is open everyday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Labor Day.
