PARK CITY, UTAH (January 17, 2013) – Powdr Corp. (Powdr), a leading mountain resort and action sports camp owner and operator, today announced Krista Parry as senior vice president and chief innovation officer of its newly created business, Powdr Enterprises. Powdr Enterprises will focus on events, sponsorships and media opportunities by leveraging the Powdr family of brands that includes Powdr Resorts, Woodward Camps, and Outside Television. Parry will work closely with Industry veteran Wade Martin, recently named president of Powdr Enterprises.
“Innovation is a key value of any successful company,” said John Cumming, chief executive officer of Powdr. “Together, Wade and Krista form a powerful team that makes Powdr Enterprises a viable division of our company and helps us leverage the other areas of our company, including Powdr Resorts, Woodward Camps and Outside Television.”
“Krista is a proven innovator – pioneering social and digital media in shaping Park City Mountain Resort’s brand in a constantly changing marketing landscape,” said Martin. “Her experience and strategic insight will be essential to building Powdr into a premier active lifestyle brand.
Parry spent the last 11 years at Park City Mountain Resort, where she has been the Director of Marketing since 2004. There, Parry changed the face of marketing: instilling the belief that marketing is about publishing content and engaging guests. She created the Snowmamas/Snowpapas community, developing Snowmamas.com into the go-to website for families planning mountain vacations, and helped the resort become the #1 vacation destinations for families. Prior to her time at Park City Mountain Resort, Parry worked for Coltrin & Associates, a New York City-based public relations agency, where her clients included the 2002 Salt Lake Olympic Committee.
As senior vice president and chief innovation officer of Powdr Enterprises, Parry will work closely with Martin on all facets of the business including: sponsorship, media, events, licensing and strategic alliances.
“I have had the privilege to work with Park City Mountain Resort and Powdr Corp for over 10 years and I am honored to work with a visionary like Wade to bring innovative partnerships, content and events together,” said Parry. “The marketing landscape has changed drastically in the last few years and I am excited about the opportunity to leverage the Powdr family of brands together to create something awesome.”
Parry will assume her new role in the spring of 2013 when Powdr Enterprises begins operations
