Oakley Announces ‘Tracking Eero’ Series

Oakley’s new series “Tracking Eero” is a multi-media collaboration including a TV series, webisodes and a documentary video starring pro snowboarder Eero Ettala, and will air on international television stations throughout the 2009-10 winter season, according to an Oakley press release. “FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif., August 12, 2009 - Oakley’s 1242 Productions, in cooperation with Friday Productions announced today the upcoming release of Tracking Eero, a multi-media collaboration, which includes a television series, webisodes and a documentary video, all starring world renowned snowboarder Eero Ettala.

“Tracking Eero showcases the true depth of Eero’s riding,” says Chris Hotell, Tracking Eero Executive Producer and Oakley Sports Marketing Manager. “We took him out of his element and pushed him into new scenarios, including trips with athletes he never rides with. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for him and we documented it.”

From the producers of “Terje’s Season Pass” and “Snowboard Diaries”, “Tracking Eero” follows Eero Ettala as he explores urban jibs in grim Russian military zones, gets lost in the endless powder of the Hokkaido backcountry, heli boards in British Columbia and goes on a whirlwind Euro road trip searching for the best parks on the continent. Friends Nicolas Muller, Danny Kass, Eiki Helgason, Torstein Horgmo, Terje Haakonsen, Jake Blauvelt, Eric Botner and Kevin Pearce join Ettala as he travels to legendary snow locations.

“I wanted to do something different from my usual season filming a video part,” says Ettala, who has been with Oakley for nine years. “The idea of a TV show, webisodes and a snowboard movie gave me the chance to go anywhere in the world, ride with whoever I wanted and really try some new things.”

‘Tracking Eero’ will air on international television networks throughout the ‘09-’10 winter, including FUEL TV, NRK, MTV3 and Gaora Sports.”
