Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. is reportedly considering the sale of Fuel TV to help fund a deal to purchase the Travel Channel.
According to All Things Digital:
If News Corp. (NWS) does part with [Fuel TV], it won’t be a whopper of a deal: Fuel TV boasts just 30 million subscribers–about half of what cable networks need to get taken seriously by operators and advertisers.
Just as telling, perhaps: I’ve queried three different Wall Street analysts to get a ballpark price for the network, and none had a clue–and only one had even heard of Fuel.
Fox Cable Networks, News Corp’s division that oversees Fuel TV, declined to comment on the story at this point. Stay tuned to TransWorld Business for more details.

This channel could have performed way better had they opened the advertising market to local areas. I don't know anybody else has tried to advertise with fuel. it is pain in the rear!! They basically don't want to deal with you unless you are national account. I feel they could have been way more successful had they broke down there advertising packages regionally with the rest of there fox packages…

Such a shame! Fuel TV has some of the only shows that don't talk down to you for being a fan. Like the Captin and Casey show, when watching that show I felt like it was okay to be 30 and still envolved! But these other shows talk to you like your still fifteen! Come on.
