Skullcandy announced today that is welcoming co-founder of Electric Visual Mike Carter onto the team as the new VP of Global Marketing. After a decade of working in the forefront of the sunglass and goggle world, Carter will be joining Skullcandy at it’s Park City, Utah headquarters. Stay tuned to TransWorld Business for an interview with Mike early next week:

“You check out the long list of not only what he accomplished at Electric but during the years before, and add all that talent to the reputation he has in this industry and it’s just staggering,” said Rick Alden, Founder and CEO of Skullcandy. “I look at what Skullcandy needs in this role and there isn’t a guy in the world better suited than Mike. To say we’re stoked to have him join us is an understatement.”

Carter is a veteran in action sports. Before co-founding Electric Visual, he managed renowned Laguna Surf and Sport, and later went on to run sports marketing for Arnette. After helping to build Electric into a worldwide brand with more than $25+ million in revenue, Volcom acquired the company and Mike continued to build the Electric brand globally with massive success.

“This is a very rare and unique opportunity to join such an incredible team. The brand passion that Rick Alden and the entire Skullcandy family have created is infectious, and I’m excited to make my own unique contribution to a category leader that shares my similar marketing values and visions. I look forward to being apart of the next chapter in the ever evolving Skullcandy story.  Let the good times roll…”

Skullcandy has experienced colossal growth since its founding in 2003 and is now the second most popular headphone brand in the world.
