LOCAL NEWS: Vista Plans For New Skatepark

Just months after tearing down its only skatepark to make room for a new civic center, Vista, California is planning a new one.

According to an article in the San Diego Union-Tribune, the city has hired Tory Walker Engineering to “develop flood controls in the South Santa Fe Avenue-Mercantile Street area.” The general idea is to create a ditch that could double as a skatepark when it’s dry.
“Right now we are looking at whether this is even feasible,” said President Tory Walker.
I know, a skateable ditch, right? Sounds like crazy talk. Walker is in talks with Grindline, who built Oceanside’s two new concrete parks in Melba Bishop park and MLK park.
No timeline or budget has been attached to this project as of yet, but we here at Transworld Business give this project a big “hells yeah.”
