Oceanside, California skateboarders are stoked—in the span of two months, the city went from having two crappy parks, to having two crappy parks and two good ones. The latest is an 8,200 square foot concrete park built in Melba Bishop park by Seattle’s Grindline Skateparks. The park has been “open” since late January, but the official ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for February 28.
The other Grindline park is located at Martin Luther King park on Mesa, and is a 6,000 square foot location, with a snake run and street course. The older parks are made up of pre-fab obstacles at Libby Lake and John Landes parks. The Melba Bishop park address is 5306 North River Road.
