German Manufacturer Launches Custom Boards

The German skateboard manufacturer Kramer Elastics GmbH has launched a service that allows you to customize individual skateboards through www.ideck.de, an online retail site. Customers can purchase a voucher at local skate shops that allows them access to the site to design their own board. According to the site, a customized snowboard service will also be available soon.

“15 Oct 2009 iDeck Kramer Elastics: In response to strong consumer demand, Kramer Elastics GmbH - Germany’s only skateboard manufacturer - now offers a service to customize individual skateboards.

Customers can buy a voucher at their local skate store which gives them access to the Kramer website so they can design their own board online. Retailers can purchase the vouchers at the wholesale price of €47.90 net per deck, RRP €79.00 per voucher. The design is printed on state-of-the-art photographic digital printing presses and delivered within 12 working days and delivered back to the store for the customer to pickup, there by ensuring customer retention. The platform for the online shop is www.ideck.de with its own shop system. The service will soon be available across Europe in different languages with “inland” service centres. The next service centres will open in UK www.ideck.co.uk, in Finland www.ideck.fi, in Belgium www.ideck.be and in Netherlands www.ideck.nl.
