“Compatriot Snowboards announced today that they have resumed operations of the quintessential hardgoods brand and will be offering a very limited run of high-end snowboards for the 2009/2010 season.  “It certainly seems like the right time for this brand to resurface,” says new Owner and Sales Manager Rick Hansen, “Retailers are still looking for unsullied brands that can offer something unique and meaningful to their core consumer, and many of our customers are still riding the product Compatriot built for them 2 or 3 seasons ago. That’s not only a testament to the durability of the snowboards themselves, but also to the longevity of our cultural mission.”  Following a similar set of objectives and freshly equipped with the resources to develop the business on a larger scale, Compatriot Snowboards has partnered with Distrikt Creative Group for product design, graphic direction, and promotional concepts.  Founder Kelly D. Williams asserts that “the Ambassador roster is what excites me most about the awakening and relaunch of Compatriot.  The new Pro Team consists of some of the worlds best snowboarders, and we are honored to have them be a part of this new brand.”  A formal announcement of the sponsored athletes is expected to be made in conjunction with the release of the new Compatriot website later this month.  For more information, visit www.compatriotsnowboards.com or http://twitter.com/compatriotsnow

Noteworthy brand objectives include the Giving Back program, a charitable program where Compatriot Snowboards donates a small portion of annual earnings to organizations that deal with crucial environmental, social, and cultural issues. After a brief pause in operations, the company recommenced in 2009 under new private ownership. With a continued focus on handcrafting performance-based freeride/big-mountain freestyle snowboards in the United States, Compatriot remains an independent brand dedicated to the core snowboarder and snowboard retailer.”
