Burton Hires its First Chief Information Officer

BURLINGTON, VT. (July 17, 2008) — Burton today announced that it has hired Kevin Ubert as the company’s first Chief Information Officer. Kevin began his new position this week and reports directly to Burton’s CEO Laurent Potdevin.

“With our expansion into surf and skate and our international network of offices, retailers and manufacturers, it is critical that we utilize our technology systems to better manage our product inventories, supply chains, product orders and customer service,” says Laurent Potdevin. “Bringing Kevin on as our first Chief Information Officer will enable us to maximize our investments in our technology systems, which will ultimately result in better service for our consumers and retailers.”

As the Chief Information Officer, Kevin will oversee the company’s Information Technology globally for all Burton brands including Burton Snowboards, Channel Islands, DNA Distribution, The Program, ANON, R.E.D. Analog and Gravis. Working from Burton’s headquarters in Burlington, Vermont, Kevin will further develop the company’s IT strategy, implementing IT-based solutions to increase productivity and efficiencies within Burton’s global supply chain.

Previously the Chief Information Officer at Pure Fishing, the global leader of the fishing tackle industry, Kevin was responsible for all information technology functions, services and personnel on a global level. He has proven expertise in improving efficiencies in product delivery and warehouse management systems. In his former position, Kevin implemented creative IT solutions for utilizing hand-held devices to increase productivity and sales opportunities while simplifying processes.
