Press Release

MONTREAL, QC October 22, 2008 – Bula, North America’s largest provider of winter accessories, today donated nearly 1,000 hats and accessories valued at approximately $15,000 USD to Colorado-based, not-for-profit SOS Outreach (SOS).

Established in 1993 in Vail, Colorado, SOS (formerly Snowboard Outreach Society), is a grassroots organization that encourages at-risk and underprivileged youth (ages 8-18) to build character and self-esteem through snow sports programs. SOS incorporates five core values into their programs: courage, discipline, integrity, wisdom and compassion. Along with providing adult mentors, community service opportunities and life skill workshops- these five values are integral to SOS accomplishing its mission of character-building in underserved youth to ensure healthy decision-making skills and successful life experiences.

“Organizations such as SOS show the compassionate and selfless side of those in the skiing and snowboarding industries,” said Bula Brand Manager, Juliet Korver. “Bula is thrilled to contribute and show gratitude for the important work they do in support of deserving youth and hopefully inspiring some future boarders and skiers.”

Bula’s donation to SOS shows their continued support of the skiing and snowboarding industries. These products will give SOS the ability to guarantee warmth on the slopes and to recognize students’ achievements with graduation gifts at the end of their sessions.

“SOS Outreach is proud of the relationship we’ve created with Bula to help us achieve our mission. SOS will provide a multi-year, core value curriculum to 4,000 youth at 38 mountain resorts this season. The program is promoting positive decision-making for future success in all participants,” said SOS Development Director, Seth Ehrlich.
