Artist Drew Brophy is making it possible for consumers to purchase art with a sole.
Brophy hooked up with Converse to bring his signature waves and intricate beach designs to the footwear market. His shoe line, the Brophy Summer 2010 Chuck Taylor collection, is available at Converse retailers nationwide.
Here’s the scoop:
Converse and surf artist Drew Brophy have teamed up to present the Brophy Summer 2010 Chuck Taylor collection featuring Brophy’s lifestyle artwork.
This new collection features Drew’s signature work of waves, sunshine and other bright, colorful summer images on the iconic Chuck Taylor blank canvas.
Drew Brophy is well known for customizing skateboards, surfboards, wakeboards and many other lifestyle products with his unique paintings, as well as inspiring generations of people to customize their own gear.
“A Converse collaboration was a natural extension of my message to kids to customize their gear with unique art” says Brophy. “As a kid, I would doodle dragons and waves on my Chuck Taylor All Star shoes and friends would ask me to draw on theirs, too. I’m glad that my designs will now be available to a great number of Converse wearers. I hope this collection inspires people to customize blank Converse shoes, as well.”
The collection includes footwear for the entire family, and is available at Converse retailers nationwide, including Journey’s, select Nordstrom locations and Converse.com.
Brophy will personally appear at select Southern California Nordstrom locations starting Saturday, April 24th and will customize Converse shoes purchased in-store during the events.
