Bring Your Skis to Work One Day, Help Save a Landfill The Next

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE - Denver, Colo. – November 4, 2008 – In partnership with Denver Pavilions, Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) will host the 2nd annual Bring Your Skis to Work Day on Thursday, November 6th. Skiers and riders in the downtown Denver area are encouraged to bring their skis or snowboards to the Denver Pavilions at 16th and Glenarm to receive a free wax from Saucer Wax. Beginning at 8am until 3:30pm, skis and snowboards can be dropped off for waxing and picked up as late at 5pm the same day.

Attendees can test their knowledge of ski resort trivia with 99.5 The Mountain’s Pete MacKay. Prizes will be awarded and include free lift tickets to Arapahoe Basin, Loveland and Powderhorn ski resorts, and Columbia ski wear.

“Bring Your Skis to Work Day is one of the many ways CSCUSA hopes to get skiers and riders excited about the ski season,” explains Neil Sogard, marketing manager at Colorado Ski Country USA. “With the Expo this weekend, A-Basin and Loveland already open, and Copper Mountain opening on Friday, the 2008-09 ski season is underway.”

Bring Your Skis to Work Day participants can pick up coupons to the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Expo, taking place at the Colorado Convention Center November 7-9. This year’s Expo will feature Colorado Ski & Golf’s expanded recycling program, where attendees can drop off old and unwanted skis, snowboards, cross-country skis, boots, poles and bindings and do their part to keep equipment out of landfills.

Also at the Expo, visitors will find bargains on last year’s equipment, the hottest styles for this year, the last chance to get early season lift ticket prices, entertainment, competitions, and giveaways.
