Anon Optics Moves From SoCal To Vermont

Anon Optics announced today that its product, sales and marketing departments will be relocating in early November to Burlington, Vermont from its current headquarters in Irvine, California. The move will place them closer to parent company Burton Snowboards. The details follow in an official press release from the brand:
“Irvine, Calif. (October 7, 2009) — anon Optics, today announced the product, sales and marketing functions of the company will be based in Burlington, Vermont, where parent company Burton Snowboards is located.
Under the leadership of anon Vice President of Product, Jeff Gilberti, the transition will be complete by early November and will allow anon to strengthen its focus on its goggle business and invest more in developing and marketing great winter products. anon plans to expand its staff in Vermont with the addition of brand and sales management positions.
anon has proven its relevance in the sunglass business, while continuing to focus on premium optics driven by the boardsports lifestyle, the company will maintain support for its emerging sunglass category.
“We make the best winter products here in Burlington, it is also the birthplace of anon. In challenging times like these, we need to be very strategic with allocating our resources so we can continue to invest in our core strengths,” says Laurent Potdevin, Chief Executive Officer for Burton.

unbelievable. Burton, never afraid to steam roll over their staff.
…and uhm, unless they move the S.Cal waves to VT my bet is Greg will not be relocating.

How many people are losing their jobs because of this? Didn't they move Anon to cali like only a year ago?

shocker!…thats too bad because the sunnies where just starting to catch on. Say goodbye to the sunglass line? I love Anon, but you can't have a marketing and sunglass company out of VT it just does not work. Stick to Goggles and move on. super bummed to here this..

They did move out there a little over a year. Pretty expensive round trip.
