686 recently unveiled its new Web site, 686.com, which features the brand’s new collection for the upcoming 2009-10 season. Find more information below:
“The newly revamped and refreshed website not only contains the line-up of the season’s hottest outerwear for men, women and children but also loads of technical information and limited releases, videos, athlete bios, photos and updates from the 686 family around the world.
The blog-like format of the website is easy-to-navigate; go back and forth from reading an entry about your favorite 686 rider to finding out what jacket they are rocking in one click. Updated daily with new content; the site also has interactive sections where the user can design their own 686 jacket, enter weekly drawings for all types of gear, and read about 686 lovers from around the world sharing their stories in a new section entitled, What’s Your Gig?
We know winter is right around the corner, but getting an early taste in August never hurts.”

not a fan of the navigation. why can't i just go to a page and look at all of the jackets or gloves? why do i have to know the model name so i can find it in the dropdown menus and click a million times before i get to something i like? how do i buy if i see something i like? it looks like their "buy now" button doesn't work and i don't see a spot for online dealers. another site left to the marketing people to figure out. brands need to get some real web people working for them so customers can figure out where and how to find and buy the stuff they want, while also enjoying all of the fluffy features mentioned in this release.
