In what appears to have been a case of accidental carbon monoxide poisoning, three Squaw Valley staff were found slumped over dead in a running car in the resort’s employee parking lot.
The tragedy appears to have been caused by what the area has been craving - fresh snow - which blocked the tail pipe of the car where the three were hanging out. Lacey Louann Sutton, 22, of Marysville, Sara Alice McCullah, 21, of Marysville, and a 17-year-old from Loma Rica whose name was not released because of her age, were pronounced dead by police on the scene. Drugs and alcohol don’t appear to have been involved.
