Shop Manager: Keith Dillon

Business has been good over the last two years for Embasi Board and Clothing in Lebanon, New Hampshire - so good that the shop decided to open a second location in Manchester about eight months ago, according to shop manager Keith Dillon. The Lebanon location is one of the only core shops in the area besides Dark Side (about an hour away), and not only does it shop have little competition, it’s also in driving distance of several major skate spots.

“I don’t want to be jumping the gun, but I have a really good feeling about the shop and we’ve been getting a really good response from people,” Dillon says, acknowledging that the shop is still young. “They’re stoked that we’re here and we’re glad to be filling that void.”

Dillon says that Embasi has been able to establish itself as a brand, working on collaborations with New Era hats and creating Embasi logo hoodies, T-shirts and skate decks. The Embasi brand products have been strong sellers for the shop, and the shop has received even more attention from its team of young local skaters and several big-name riders such as Kevin Pearce and Danny Davis, according to Dillon. Here’s what’s been selling at the shop:

BEST SELLING CATEGORIES

1. Footwear
“We just recently pulled Nike SB on within the last few months, and it’s been doing really well,”
says Dillon.

Best Selling Brand: Circa
“Definitely Circa, Supra and any skate heavy shoes do the best at our shop,” Dillon says, adding that recently Circa has been a stand-out, with Nike SB hot on it’s trail.

Best Selling Sku: 99 Vulc
It was a close tie between the Tre High and the 99 Vulc, according to Dillon.

2. Outerwear
In the last three months, outerwear has undoubtedly been the shops number two best selling category.

Best Selling Brand: DC
“DC outerwear has been killing it,” Dillon says, adding that Nomis and Special Blend have also been selling really well.

Best Selling Sku: N/A
“We only do three of each dial, and we sort of thin it out with everything we carry that way,” Dillon explains. “We have one size run of everything unless it’s out the door in a minute. We’ve got to keep it chill because there are so many high schools around here - we don’t want kids all having the same stuff.”

3. Snowboards
Although the Manchester shop is more skate heavy, the Lebanon location has been extremely successful with snow gear this season and they plan to continue doing well, Dillon says.

Tech 9 and Nitro came close but couldn’t beat out NItro’s strong sales over the last few months.
