Day one at SIA got off to a great start. Despite concerns of low attendance at other recent trade shows, the traffic seemed on par with years’ past and booths were packed to the gill. Vendors were reporting solid orders and there were a number of new lines and brands representing their new innovations. The buzz word of the day being bandied about was “value,” and if anything the mood seemed a bit more business focus than in the past. However, with the last day of an era looming shortly down the road the energy is probably just building.

nice to see that the day the company was laying off employees that McKnight felt it was more important to be in Vegas so he could hit the strip clubs….nice leadership

Agreed! What are they coming to the next trade show as? Maybe priests and nuns? Volcom is annoying and is time for a new company to come up.

You serious? Skull Candy’s DJ was playing Snow informer and classic hits like milli vanilli. WTF and you guys are slamming Volcom. Last time I checked they were the only ones kicked out of the show for having to much fun.
I can see why people don’t like the volcom both. If you don’t have a appointment you don’t get to see the gear.
Anyways Long live Volcom. Sorry you guys don’t see that this snowboarding/skateboarding thing is about having fun. Fu*k the internet I am out.

as a smaller buy, whos not a big player in the industry, not getting to see the volcom gear is a bummer. understand they are busy, but on friday, no appointments running.. i mean cmon. And im, i was, and still and a loyal supporter of them.
