Roxy and the Dear & Yonder crew have been busy on the east coast, throwing recent premier parties in Brooklyn and Montauk, NY. Dear & Yonder, a surf movie with a dynamic cast of ladies,  follows top professionals including Roxy team riders Sally Fitzgibbons, Sofia Mulanovich and Kassia Meador, as they surf their home breaks (Dear) and travel the world (Yonder). The film will be released on DVD later this month. Check out the trailer at

In addition to chronicling today’s surfers such as Stephanie Gilmore, Liz Clark, Belinda Baggs, Coco Ho, Silvana Lima, Judith Sheridan, Ashley Lloyd, Sally Fizgibbons, Kassia Meador, Ashley Davis, Prue Jeffries, and many more. Dear and Yonder spreads its roots deeper and cultivates a sense of place and knowledge of history, reaching back in time to unearth footage of iconic surfers such as Linda Benson, Rell Sunn and Lisa Andersen.

The film premiere parties started in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with Secret Project Robot, Roxy and PAPER Mag teaming up to put on the event. Surfer and filmmaker, Tiffany Campbell made the film with her friend Andria Lessler, through the production company, Villa Villa Cola that she owns with her twin sister, Nicole Young.

“So many women lose their dream of surfing as they become older and have families,” says Tiffany Campbell . “We’re trying to show that you can have everything you want, and still surf.”

Secret Project Robot hosted the party and generously donated their exhibition space for the evening.. Roxy pro-surfer Kassia Meador was in attendance for the evening, not only as a surfer, but also as an exhibitor. Kassia showed her Polaroid’s from her worldly surf travels and they were one of the highlights of the exhibit. As the sun set over the East River, the screening of Dear and Yonder was projected against the oil tankers directly outside the Secret Project Robot Space and Mollusk Surf Shop.

The party continued this past weekend as the crew rolled out to the East Coast’s classic surfer spot in Montauk, NY and settled in for a weekend of sun and surf east coast style, chock full with surf lessons provided by the local surf shop, Air and Speed and long days at Ditch Plains checking out and surfing with the local talent. Saturday night brought Dear & Yonder to The Surf Lodge and as the sun set over Fort Pond, the white sheet screen lit up outside on the deck Montauk’s best grabbed seats in the sand, cocktails in hand and let the breeze and the movie carry them away- can you ask for a better way to watch a surf flick?
