Christchurch, New Zealand’s Rob Thomson recently completed an 850-day, 7,555-mile journey on a skateboard, creating a world record for the Guinness Book.

When asked about the journey’s highlights, Thomson explains he tried eating horse-penis salami in Kyrgyzstan, but even stranger was that he completed the entire journey with only three pairs of shoes, three sets of wheels, and three boards—and survived only three crashes. Not to brag, but I crash more than that skating down the block to the tweeker deli at lunch.
All tolled, the trip cost Thomson $15,000, and $1,000 of debt. Naturally, he plans to write a book about the trip.

Pretty expensive for a trip that probably sucked for 80% of the time. I wonder how much of that $15K was for bus fare?
