Market Watch: Good and Bad News For The Economy

Northern Trust issued a Power Point presentation that took an easy to understand look at the economy in graphical form. I think we all have the feeling (hope?) that the economy has bottomed and may be starting to recover. This shows you the beginnings of the recovery indicator by indicator, and then goes on to show, in the second part of the presentation, where the potential bumps in the road are. It isn’t specific to our industry, but I don’t think the recession’s impact on action sports has been different than on the rest of the economy.
Do two things when you go through it (It will only take you 10 minutes or so). First, notice the level from which the indicators are turning up. They are kind of way down there compared to two years ago. Second, go through the whole thing. The first half is the good news and the second, the possibly bad. Get a balanced perspective.
