With a Frankenstorm bearing down on the East Coast, a presidential election less than a week away, and a grinding economic recovery keeping things somber for many, what better way to divert your attention than by dressing up like someone else and getting a little loose?
We thought so too and are bringing back the TransWorld Business Industry Costume Contest.
The TW Biz edit team will be judging costumes with some great prizes to follow. To get in on the action, send your photos to email@example.com by November 1, weigh in on your favorite pictures in the comments below, and check back here for updates throughout the week.
Burton sent over a grip of photos from its department decorating contest, an annual tradition at its Burlington headquarters since 2008. Once the decorations are up, local trick-or-treaters descend on the offices to share in the fun.
“We ask parents/employees to donate $5 per child, and all proceeds go to Chill,” explains Burton’s Abby Young. “This year, we raised over $800 for Chill, which is great.”
Here’s an excerpt from an internal email recapping the event:
“All the departments really stepped it up this year. The Chill kid judges voted for their favorite, and Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory in Marketing came out on top .From Harry Potter (Creative Product Dept), to the incredibly realistic ‘Projects’ (Marketing Creative is called ‘The Projects’ and was decorated as such) to stepping into the Candy Land board game (Logistics & Operations) and becoming Super Mario Bros.(Rider/Dealer Service & Sales), and taking multiple walks down the Yellow Brick Road (Hardgoods, Softgoods and Finance), and experiencing some insanely spooky scenes (Jake & Donna’s office), every department was a winner.”
We just got an email for SLC’s Salty Peaks with a link to Electric’s Helloween Bash.
According to Salty Peaks: “Every year, Electric Visual and Sales Rep extraordinaire Amber Pena host the sickest party in Salt Lake, The Electric Helloween Party. It was once again at The Metro Bar, a really fun club/bar that always does it big for Halloween. The shindig always gets filled with industry people and tons of good homies alike, making it a wild time with great company. DJ Matty Mo was also in the mix, spinnin’ the hot jams to keep people going all night. Shout out to PartyUtah.com for some great pictures, I have to admit I stole a couple from them so be sure to check them out, but for now enjoy the many ridiculous pictures of ridiculous people in some ridiculous costumes.”
