Once a year, Sole Tech hosts a media weekend to have all the mags show up and walk through the product lines. We get to stay at Pierre Andre’s loft in Newport Beach and skate the new TF. Also, they get the media really really drunk, which explains the fuzzy photos. It’s a good time. Here are the highlights.

Emerica, eS and Altamont’s Brian Jones with Transworld’s Erik Myhro and Ben Kelley with warm-up beers.

Ben taking artsy harbor photos.

Skatepark Of Tampa’s Rob Meronek, Etnies’ Ashton Maxfield, and Slap’s Erik Olsen taking advantage of the complimentary cigars.

Someone had a copy of MindField and within ten minutes forty people were glued to the TV.

Pierre has a padded board, park of his “skurniture” collection. Last year we spent an hour trying tricks on it, and Pierre and I both broke toes. This year someone 360 flipped it within five minutes and pretty much shut the session down.

See? Skate + furniture = Skurniture.

We took Pierre’s yacht out for a leisurely harbor cruise.

After the harbor cruise we went to the parking lot for a barbecue. The spread was really impressive. eS riders Bobby Worrest and Mike Anderson were already there pounding beers.

But a food fight ensued

I lost a fingertip in the melee, but Don Brown got it worse.

Ben Kelley lost the fight, though.

Cleanup came in the form of a dip in the harbor. Ashton Maxfield backflipping.

Ashton with porno ‘stache.

Me and eS TM Scuba Steve were gonna take the jet skis out but couldn’t figure out how to start them.

The next morning we went to Sole Tech for a presentation on each of the brands. The most impressive part of this photo is that Don had been released from jail less than an hour ago. When asked how it was, he calmly replied “Eh, I like the Laguna Beach jail better.” Don was arrested for climbing onto boats that weren’t his, and honking their horns at three AM.

Bobby spoke for about fifteen seconds about his debut shoe, the First Blood. Nice job, Bobby.

Reynolds is a little more comfortable in front of crowds, but not much more. He lasted 2 minutes.
